Ask It the Right Way
Find out how your question changes the AI's answer.
🎯
Step 1 of 2
What you'll learn in this level
- What a prompt is
- Why exact questions get better answers
- How to make a useless answer better
How you talk to an AI
When you give an AI a task, that's called a prompt. The AI can't read minds - it only works with the words you give it.
That's why a vague question gets you a vague answer. In this workshop you'll compare three prompts four times over and immediately see what answer each one produces.
How it works
- 1
State the task
Say clearly what the AI should do: explain, list or compare.
- 2
Name the audience
Who is the answer for? A child needs other words than an expert.
- 3
Set the length
Five sentences? A list? If you do not say, the AI guesses.
- 4
Refine
If the answer does not fit, change your prompt. Just asking again does not help much.
Guess first, then experiment
You want a story about a brave robot. Which prompt gets the better result?
The four ingredients of a good prompt
- • Say exactly what you want (not "write something about dogs", but what kind of text).
- • Say who it's for (a class presentation? your little sister?).
- • Say how long or what shape it should be (three sentences? a list?).
- • Include the important details - the AI knows nothing about you or your situation.
